Spread the cheer of Christmas

Since I finally got in to the blogging mode, thought I make the most of it and get the site up-to-date with the events in the last coupla months. I know we are well past Christmas and actually in to the Lent season, still felt that a mention of the Christmas caroling is in place. Since the last 2 years, St. Patrick's youth choir have been participating in spreading the joy of Christmas season, by way of singing carols. We have been been recorded live on Doordarshan. This time we sang the carols - "Christmas praise" and a medley of other famous carols like 'Love gets better at Christmas', 'Silver bells' etc. Take a look - (The recording unfortunately got split into a no. of videos)

Happy Women's Day!

Quite a while since I visited my own blog, let alone scribble something in. Finally on IWD, I found time for myself. Since today is an off, we celebrated IWD yday, so didn't do a lot of work, went out for lunch with my girl friends. Over all a nice peaceful day.
Happened to catch a survey on Radio. They have been celebration Women's week. The Question was "Only 4% of the women in the survey, were happy about one thing of themselves. What were they talking about?" Well they were talking about weight.
Yeah, most of us are bothered about our weight. Either we have too much of it, or we need more. But today, I'm sure none of us are going to be bothered about weight issues. Get pampered!
Here is to all the women!

If...

If... A funny little word wouldn't you say? 2 of the 26 letters of the English alphabet when used in this manner seem to spell `havoc`. The very word that introduces conditions to every statement. How often I have heard myself stating 'If only I could remain a little calmer when dealing with annoying colleagues' or 'If only they commented this beautiful piece of code, to enable me to appreciate their work'.
To summarize the power of this word can very well be felt in the lovely rendition by Rudyard Kipling. (Personally one of my all time favorites)

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

Halloween Party

Well, well, nothing turned out as I had imagined, thanks to the rain playing spoil sport. However, the rain failed to dampen the ethusiastic spirits. The party had to be held indoors and nobody dressed up as anything remotely frightful. Anyways, All's well that ends well. Ciao

Hmmm...

Well, my first post. Actually surfing the net and was so inspired by some of the blogs. Thought it was time to create my own blog. Noodle Factory upstairs has been working over time of late. So as a treat to those weary cells, let me do something not related to WORK.
First, need to clear the Recycle Bin. Aaah, that feels better. Coming to the present, never thought I'd be up and blogging. But Here I am...
Halloween's round the corner, still wondering if I should go for the party tonight. Let's c.

Here's a quote from Macbeth..

Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn and cauldron bubble ~William Shakespeare

Let's c what I can conjure up.
